Oracle Lite unstable and inconsistent documentation

I have been using a demo copy of Oracle Lite on both Windows NT 3.51 and  Windows 3.1 . On both platforms it has proven to be extremely unstable. When you try to acces the database from more than one process the "PO7" process goes down on an exception in stead of givving a error to the second process. Futhermore the documentation and the real thing does not seem to have beenproduced by the same team .
The documentation states that the 'LIKE' predicate can be used, however if it is used  in the format :

"where col1 like 'S%'"

   and syntax error results
 when it is used in the format :

"where 'S%' like col1"

   no error occurs but no rows match .

Has anybody else had experience with Oracle lite ?????????????
