Linking PRO*C programs

We have just installed PRO*C V2.0 onto our Unix machine (Sequent Dynix/ptx), and when compiling an existing Pro*C program that used to be a 700K executeable, It is now 3.9Mb.
Is it possible to reduce this ??? - Are there Dynamic Link Libraries ?? I Have read that you can link 'shared', but can't find any documentation on how to do this.
Can anyone help/point me in the right direction ????
