What do you mean by "data in a memory buffer"? How does the data get there, and how would a program access it? Is there some barrier to a Pro*C program just getting the data and doing inserts with it? If you are trying to ask if it is possible to bypass the SQL engine and write directly to the database files, the simple answer is NO.

The real question is: 2 million rows a day into an Oracle database? Are you crazy? I have troubles with a database of 2 million rows a year. Received on Wed Jun 26 1996 - 00:00:00 CEST
