Bullet Proof Directory

A failed Oracle Developer 2000 Ver. 1.2 installation attempt has left behind a directory that nobody, server administrators included, has the appropriate permissions to remove. The directory \ORAMAC\Applications\Oracle SwitchType seems impervious to everyone.

The problem seems to have come about when the Mac we were installing Oracle Developer 2000 Ver. 1.2 decided to crash in the middle of an installation. Subsequent attempts to re-install are blocked when the installation routine needs to create and/or write to the directory in question.

Any thoughts on what could have gone wrong and how we can correct the problem?
