There is a known bug in 7.3.2 on Solaris 2.5 that causes long fields to be corrupted when selected using a select for update. The bug is 360985, the TAR is 9445254.6. This bug is supposed to be fixed in 7.3.2.2 which is supposed to be available in about a month.
