Getting orphan processes chewing up CPU Time

After a day's work there are oracle processes running when there are not supposed to be. I can go in a kill them but I can't tell the difference between valid processes and orphan processes. Does anyone know a way to keep the orphan processes to a minimum?

Will also entertain claims that it can't be done. Received on Fri May 17 1996 - 00:00:00 CEST
