DEBUGGING in PL/SQL

I'm currently working in PL/SQL Release 2.2.2.3.0, and finding it a real pain having to constantly rely on DBMS_OUTPUT (Especially as it won't work in functions as it considers that there is a possibility of a DB update!)

Has anyone heard of/experience of a good third party debugger for release 2.2?
