Ok, I have these .dmp files that I am trying to get into PO7. They came from a UNIX box...
1) Can I do it?
2) Do I have to recreate the tablespace stuff and all the users and the table structures?
3) Any tips would be great. I have a book on Oracle that is supposed to cover release 7.2. The online docs for PO7 seem to me to pretty poor. So starting from scratch is kinda hard. Any info would be a great help.

What I ultimately need to do is to get the tables (as much as possible) into a dbf format (yeah, I know) so that a desktop GIS (ArcView2.1) can see the data and attach client locations (addresses) to it... Is there a better way?

Also, should the SQL *Plus window recognize the commands that are described in the book? If I type commands, nothing, or help just brings up the win95 help file that just refrences a book that I don't have.

Tough shape ain't i...
Thanks for any help.
