Have a look at my article on the Shared memory Leak. It looks like you may also need bug fix 312953. We had to upgrade to 7.2.2.4 plus the bug fix. We still have several serious problems which we can provide short-term work-arounds for:

  1. MTS doesn't work worth a D***. We had to turn off MTS and go to strictly dedicated servers, taking a memory paging & swapping hit as a result.
  2. SQL*NET database links will not work from releases prior to 7.0.16 to 7.2.2.4. We can get around this by having a dedicated machine running 7.0.16, and having the machines that can't do V2 reference it in their database links, and having it use a V2 connection to the 7.2.2.4 machine (taking a hit in extra network traffic).
  3. 7.2.2.4 doesn't like V1 database links from other instances. We had to do emergency program maintenance changing V1 strings to V2 strings.

(BTW, connect using V1 strings is fine ... just DB links crap out)
