When I said "arbitrarily huge", I should have been more specific. Our SYSTEM tablespace has 150MB free - should be more than adequate. Your information about using the SQL*PLUS from the D/2000 CD is news to me. I'm not doing that and will give that a try today. Thank you for the information!
