Hi,

I've been working with connecting from applications running under Windows 3.1 on a PC to an Oracle database server on an HP. I can't say I'm too impressed with the blazing performance of ODBC just yet. I'm wondering if there is a way to cut out the ODBC layer and only have to use SQL*Net on the PC to connect to the database server.

I've heard of the demo of the Oracle Power Objects, and other objects for use with Visual Basic that will connect to an Oracle database without ODBC. Has anybody worked with these objects or anything else that is ODBC-less for connecting from a PC to an Oracle database
