Hi,

We have Oracle 7.1.4 running on a
data general box and an Oracle 7.1.6 running on a DEC alpha (OSF1 3.2)
I can use SQL*Plus 3.1 to log to either one of these databases individually.
When I try to use any other front-end
applications such as Q+E or Microsoft Query and connect to either of the databases while my SQL*Plus session is still alive, the first attempt gives me error ORA-6107 (oracle network server not found), the second attempt logs me in. any attempt after that fails. I have tried to open two sessions to the same instance on DEC alpha and sometimes it works and other times it fails. with the same error 6107.

Any help from experienced DBAs are greatly appriciated. Please feel free to send me an e-mail if you wish.

Regards,

Reza Abouk
