Hello,

I'm an oracle newbie and I've copied oracle from one machine to another because one on my Sparc 20's died. And after reinstalling the software on the new machine I get the following error when I do this:

SQL>startup nomount

ORA-07331:smsnsg: unable to allocate the variable portion of the SGA Additonal information:4

I've adjusted the kernel parameters on the new machine to match what was on the old one, i.e. semmni, semmns and etc. but I still get this error.
