How do I determine the start number in a sequence from SQL ?

Hi,
I'm trying to write Pro*C code to determine the starting number in an Oracle sequence. Is there any SQLPLUS / Pro*C statement that can tell me what the start ID for that Sequence is (the one used in the CREATE SEQUENCE command) ?
