We ran Oracle (7.1.4)/HP/RAID5 on Data Warehouse Application, the
situation
is very difference with those in transition base. RAID5 just couldn't
serve
well with most the time 70-90% wait I/O. We have started to switch over
on
RAID7. This latest technology gives 100% I/O performance improvement
with write
penality.
