Gunnar,

I've upgraded from 7.1.4 to 7.1.6 On Solaris 2.3.

The following things occured.

  1. Although I didn't select them, sqlplus (and other tools) indicated that par. query, dist. option and sym. replication were installed. (you know, the message when you start sqlplus Oracle 7.1.6 (production) using PL/SQL 2.1.6 with the par. query, dist. option and sym. replication options (or something like that.)) The solution is to install those products, remove them and relink the oracle executable. It has no impact on the internal workings of Oracle.
  2. There are problems with SQL*Net V1 and the TWO_TASK variable, doing an ops$-login. What I mean is this : The variable TWO_TASK = 'T:other_machine:sid' . Now I can login using sqlplus ops$user/passwd but not using sqlplus / When I change the variable to TWO_TASK='sid' (<--- a SQL*Net V2 string) I don't have any problems.
  3. There seems to be a problem with SQL*ReportWriter when using a lot of groups. This problem is still under investigation by Oracle.

Hope this helps.

Greetings,
Frank
