Using Parallel Server/Query for Oracle7 on NT

I was wondering if anyone has experience using the Parallel
Server and/or query options on Oracle7 with NT. I have an SMP
server from AT&T GIS with two 90Mhx Pentium's in it and I am
thinking that the parallel option is what I need to take advantage
of the processing power in the server. I need to justify the
cost-benefit.
The database is basically used for analysis - no transactions
are ever issued against the database except when loading new data.
The database has two main tables and several very small (50K rows)
lookup tables. However, the two main tables will have >45 million
and >33 million rows each when fully loaded, and processing time right
now is not what I had expected. Storage is in the 20 gigabyte range. I
have the data tables loading on three 2 gigabyte drives on a Raid 0
drive array, and the indexes on a seperate but equivalent setup.
If you have experience with this, please let me know what you think
of it. Thanks,
Jim Mumper
