Position Avaliable: System Specialist
Jacobs Engineering Group is looking for a System Specialist to maintain
and
expand their Environmental Data Management System (operating in ORACLE
on
Hewlett Packard UNIX workstations). This position is
available in the Environmental Data Management Service Center in
Sacramento, CA. This Center provides Data Management, Mapping, and
Spatial Analysis support for various projects throughout the country.
The candidate will be responsible for all programming and development of the database including the design & implimentation of reports, data uploading and exporting, and providing technical support to Data Analysts and Technicians. This person will be responsible for database administration including performance tuning, tablespace management, and user accounts.
Applicants must have 3-6 years of Oracle data systems experience
including
experience as a Database Administrator. A computer science degree is
required. A throuough understanding of UNIX, SQL, PL/SQL, SQL*FORMS
is required. Programming, in C, PERL, or comprable capabilities
perferred.
Familiarity with hazardous waste investigations desired. Knowledge of
TCP/IP, Novell, ACCESS, and Windows system desired.

Position Available: Data Analyst
Jacobs Engineering Group is looking for a Data Analyst to work at their
Environmental Data Management Service Center in Sacramento, CA. This
Center provides Data Management, Mapping, and Spatial Analysis support
for
various projects throughout the country.
The candidate shall be responsible for maintaining and utilizing the environmental database using the Jacobs Environmental Management System.
Will function as a Task Leader responsible for organizing technical
staff
to create and update geologic, construction, and analytical databases
developed during hazardous waste investigations. Interact with
technical
and project management staff to produce custom data reports for
interpretation and analysis.
Three to five years experience in data management required. Experience developing and utilizing a SQL-based database management system required. B. S. in Computer Science or a related field required. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Database administration, programming or UNIX skills are a plus.
