Has anyone had practical experience of reverse-engineering forms and reports?
We are intending to develop a new application from scratch using the CASE 5.1 toolkit, using RAD and the reports and forms generators. There is an existing application (which we don't own) that performs many similar functions as the new system to be developed. However, if we just migrate these applications we can't really customise them using the generator (I presume) so I'm wondering if reverse engineering is the answer.
What are the benefits of taking existing forms an reverse engineering them into the CDE repository? Has anyone done this? Pitfalls? Hints? Received on Sun Apr 23 1995 - 00:00:00 CEST
