Notes:
- Windows for WorkGroups is supported with SQL*Net TCP/IP for Windows (V1 and V2) if the 3rd party networking software that SQL*Net is running on top of supports it. Windows for WorkGroups is supported with the SPX protocol as well, starting with SQL*Net SPX V1.1.2 and the V2.0.15 SPX Adapter. Windows for WorkGroups is supported with SQL*Net Named Pipes, too. The CDE tools are also supported under Windows for WorkGroups.
- For the 16 bit production Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows product, we only support the non-Winsock interface, so you must choose the Microsoft TCP/IP vendor. The Winsock interface for this Microsoft product is not supported.
- Digital Pathworks DOS 5.0A is supported for Windows v1.1.7.10 and 2.0.15; however, Pathworks was released after both these versions. You will not find Digital Pathworks 5.0A on the list of supported vendors when you are installing SQL*Net. Instead, it just says "Pathworks," referring to Pathworks v4.1. v4.1 is not supported through Winsock and will give you errors. Instead, pick ANY Winsock vendor that we support (NetManage Chameleon, etc).
- SQL*Net TCPIP v2.0.14 for Windows will not work through WINSOCK, and if you want to use WINSOCK, you must upgrade to v2.0.15 of SQL*Net.
