I would be very interested in hearing from people who have Oracle 7 installed in a production mode with 1000 concurrent users either in a host based or client server approach.

Specifically, I would like to have answers to the following:

1.) What Operating System(s) are you using?
2.) What Hardware Configurations are you using (Manufacturer, CPUS, MEM, DASD)?
3.) Are you using Distributed Databases? If so, how many?
4.) Are you using data replication technology to a central server?
5.) What would you do different if you had the chance?

The application in question will be using a sqlwindows front-end with anywhere from 1 to 60 databases depending on the decisions we make in the next month. How do people feel about remote management of 60 Oracle databases with no DBA onsite. How much more or less person time does it take to manage a distributed database environment opposed to a centralized environment? If network bandwidth was not an issue would you still go to a distributed enviroment?

Thank's in advance
