SQL*Net on UNIX

Looking at this SQL*Net manual, it talks all about how to install a server but what about a client? I'm trying to get a client machine up and the manual is no good. Noone around here knows much more than I about ORACLE. Can anyone tell me what needs to be done to get it started?

Also, the ORACLE installer seems unable to deal with an xterm. How do I fix the keymap?
