AMEN! Import is almost useless.
Anyhow, try doing an import like this:
imp userid=usr/pass file=exp.dmp indexes=y indexfile=ddl.sql show=y
This will create the file ddl.sql that you can then edit and change whatever storage parameters you like. After you do this, run the script ddl.sql to pre-create all of the tables and indexes.
