Next Extents

I just exported a table with 2 million rows and had the extent compressed. When I imported the table, the data was in 3 extents. I thought that all the data would be placed in one extent. Is there a limit to the size of an extent?

I also looked at the initial and next extents in user tables and realized that it set-up a next extent of 50Megs. Is this normal. Once the data is in one extent, the next should be extremely small (150K)? Any ideas?
