URGENT : Oracle V7 with Parallel Query Option

Hello,
I'm looking for somebody which has experience with Oracle V7 with the Parallel Query Option, prefably on an Digital OSF/1 Multi-Processor (with 4 Alpha-cpus).
I'm currently working for the EEC in Brussels, and we have
ordered one of these beasts. But delivery has been delayed
(as usual), and we are getting confusing explanations for this
delay. Depending on the spokeperson (official and unofficial),
it's to be blamed to the backlog at DEC, to problems with the
operation system, with the Alphas or with the parallel query
option for Oracle V7. DEC and Oracle officials are trying to
provide us with a solution, but this would probably be a
slower machine (1 cpu), without the PQO. This won't be good
news for my project, because we really need to have a very
fast database-server by the end of this month [the fact that
Sweden decided to join the European Union yesterday, didn't
help much ;-) ] We have done a lot of tests on this configuration
(and on others from other manufacturers) and this was
definetly the best. But it seems that DEC and/or Oracle are
not able anymore to deliver this machine (although they swore
that it was not beta-software). All the other manufacturers
had only beta software, or were just to slow. [ Half of them
were not able to install Oracle correctly BTW ;-() ]
Has somebody experience with this particular configuration ?
Or with any Oracle V7 with the parallel query option ?
Does it really work ? And with any version of Oracle on
a Multi-processor ? Is it worthwile for *your* application
(we're not calculting SPECints or playing Tetris here)
Thanks for anybody who can help.
