If I CREATE USER blarg IDENTIFIED EXTERNALLY, should it be possible to connect to the database with the usercode and the password of the usercode as per the O/S? e.g. in sqldba connect blarg/<blarg's O/S password>.
The reason for asking is that is how I read the manual yet when I try it I have no joy. I checked the FAQ but couldn't find anything on this.
Setup : Oracle7, O/S : SunOS 4.1.3.
