Checkpoint not complete message,stalled users

In the Oracle error log file I get the following message:
Thread 1 cannot allocate new log, sequence 1234 Checkpoint not complete
This only happens when I create lots of new data by performing a import or inserting lots of data.
Nobody can run anything until the checkpoint completes. Looking at the my Unix monitor the disks with data get lots of io. What can I do? Received on Sat Sep 17 1994 - 02:03:08 CEST
