Access/ODBC/Oracle Outer Joins

We cannot get outer joins to work when accessing an Oracle database from Microsoft Access through ODBC. Does anybody else have this problem? Does anybody have a fix or workaround?
We're using Access 2.0 and the (supposedly) latest ODBC driver from Oracle. We had the same problem with Access 1.1 and the ODBC driver that came with it.
