I'm running Oracle for UNIX on an NCR 3430. Is there anything special I should know about when creating raw partitions in this environment? The raw partition is owned by Oracle and has permission of 600 as per Oracle's suggestion. I don't have any problems creating a database or even tablespaces and tables, however when I try to import in data I get errors indicating that the communication channel is lost and another time I got errors that the log header is corrupted. I don't get any of these errors when using file systems. Finally, when using the raw partition should I be pointing to /dev/dsk or dev/rdsk. I have heard to different answers.

Thanks for reading my babble. Now could someone please help. Please... Received on Sat Jun 18 1994 - 21:40:41 CEST
