Oracle itself decides if it is running based on the file sgaSID.dbf (or something like that) located in the ~oracle/dbs directory.
BUT: They use the find command, which will get fooled if there are any of these types of files in sub-dirs. Received on Sat May 21 1994 - 04:36:00 CEST
