Is SQL*Plus a must...*really*?

A really lousy interactive intferface.
Also, problably the only universal interface to write Oracle scripts
to. Me thinks it's one of those things you will need to bite the
bullet to get, if only to be able to access it during phone calls
to Oracle support, ie: the support person says: Go into SQLPLUS and
type this: xxx.
