This topic is well addressed in the front page technical story in the January issue of Computer Technology Report. BTW, regarding that other posting asking about RAID 10, the article mentions that RAID 10 is just a RAID implementation of RAID 1 and RAID 0. This technical article says, "Historically, the problem with RAID 10 is cost."
