How is everybody modelling time slots for storage in a database?
Specifically, I want to be able to store class meeting times and room assignment times. These are time slots or multiple time slots.
For example,
Mondays 9:00-9:50a.m. and 1:00-2:00p.m. or Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:00 - 10:50 a.m. or Mondays & Wednesdays 2:00 - 2:50 p.m. and Fridays 9:00 - 9:50 a.m.
Obviously, if I can come up with a great way to model a single time slot, I can use multiple rows for multiple timeslots. I'm just looking for ideas. Everything I've come up with seems really clumsy.
Thanks in advance.
