Hi

We've recently upgraded from Oracle V5 (yes, really) to V6.0.35 on VMS and lots of strange things are happening. For example, what's bothering me right now is when I do a straightforward SQL*Load (calling SQL*Load from an SQL*Plus program) into a single table, I get the error:

ORA-00700: maximum number of row cache objects (parameter 'dc_free_extents') exceeded

Smaller loads work okay, but I don't think the amount of data is excessive. I understand that we can change the parameter 'dc_free_extents' in ORA.INIT, but I assume the setup there is reasonable. Is there something less drastic that I can do ?

Thanks,

        Andy
