Solved: Info on non-embedded SQL from C

Thanks to everyone who clued me in on how to do what I need using embedded SQL. Like I said, I never claimed to be an SQL guru :-), my experience lies elsewhere.

The source of the problem was the clueless Informix rep who told me what I needed to do was impossible with Informix and embedded SQL. I should have known to ask the net in the first place. :-)
