Hi --

I am looking at an project that has a hard requirement for Oracle [i.e. no other database may be substituted] which is currently spec'd to be run with MS-Windows, but the programmers who started the project have disappeared and there is this half-finished mess.

I consider OS/2 to be a better platform for this application, but have no idea how well Oracle will work with OS/2 2.0. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Ideally, the configuration will be two 486 platforms each capable of running a communications front end, a database server, and a gui user interface, with all functions duplicated for fault tolerance.

It is my understanding that the long-awaited [and now delivered?] Oracle version that supports data mirroring etc has now been delivered.

Has anyone had any experience with this sort of thing?

Grateful thanks for suggestions/comments --

orville.
