Auditing and statement execution failures ?

I have a question about auditing:

Audit records are written after a statement is parsed, not executed.

So if I audit insertions on a table "whenever successful," and then make an insertion which parses fine but which has an execution-time failure (like a duplicate unique value) and therefore doesn't execute, an audit record is still written showing it succeeded, yes?
