A normal ftp session would look like

fire up a dos box by running the cmd command now type
ftp <name of your server>
answer to the username and password question type the
ascii
command
type
cd <directory where the trace files are located> type
get <name of the trace file>
or
mget <file name with wildcard>
type
bye
