It looks like if I specify the true type font and the java font equivalent in the registry.dat file and the jinitiator font.properties. Then I should be able to use a barcode font in the form itself, without having to just the JavaBean. The JavaBean works in reports but it comes with a performance hit, the bean actually generates a picture of the barcode and is displays it in a formula column.
