Setting MQ Message Id for MQ message

Using Oracle AQ, Oracle Messaging Gateway, and PL/SQL, we can successfully propagate messages to and receive messages from an IBM MQ Series queue. But, we cannot set or retrieve the MQ message id. We can set and receive all the other parameters (i.e. correlation id, user id, etc.).

The Oracle Messaging Gateway provided a sample file called sample2_setup.sql that uses an MQ parameter called MGW_MQ_messageId that is supposed to allow you to set and retrieve the message id. So far, that has not worked and no errors are indicated in Oracle or MQ. The MGW_MQ_messageId parameter is only mentioned in this sample file and never referenced in any Oracle manual.

My questions then...is MGW_MQ_messageId a valid parameter? If so, is there some documentation as to how it is used. If not, how do we set and retrieve the MQ series message id?

Thanks for any help.
