While I generally agree, note that Oracle seems to be [at least semi-] serious about iSQL*Plus.
There are a few differences between SQL*Plus and iSQL*Plus, the two biggest being
- no client install (configure using the inherent OHS (Oracle HTTP Server powered by Apache)
- browser access from virtually anywhere that's accessible.
(That said, I grew up using SQL*Plus and prefer it.)
