Oracle Internet File System

Hi to everybody.

I'm relative new with Oracle products and tools.

I must to evaluate the use of Oracle iFS as a kind of fileserver. I'm analyzing how Oracle iFS. I downloaded iFS manuals from Oracle web documentation but I have some doubts:

1� Does iFS allways uses a database?

2� Are the physical files stored inside the database?

3� If question 2� is true: What type of data are declared into the Oracle table for the physical file?
