- 9iAS may come with a "Database Cache" database, but it's not suitable for other purposes (I even recommend you do not use it at all)
- You need to install about every Oracle product into its own ORACLE_HOME now because there are differences in the stack they were built on - additionally, installing a patch for product A would break product B when installed into the same ORACLE_HOME.
