upgrade to forms/reports 6i problem

Oracle 8.1.7.2.1
new: Oracle Forms/Reports 6i (old: Reports 3.0.5.8.0 / Forms 5.0.6.8.0)

I upgraded all forms and report modules to 6i. the forms run fine, but when i call a report from my forms menu, i get an error ora-00942 table does not exist. when i run the same report from reports runtime, it works. is there a bug in oracle forms? any additional settings i need to consider?

any thoughts are appreciated.
