Info about Internet developer suite

Hi, my name is Massimo and my company have told me that they want to use Internet Developer Suite for win NT to develop and test a database.
I don't know what i must install and where, is there a part of software client and another one part server ?? The database to be created is resident on a Sun machine, so what i can do to see the remote DB ?
the machines are both on the intranet.
