Oracle developer 6i

I have Oracle Developer 6i installed on a Solaris machine. On the same machine, I also have an Oracle 8i database. Developer 6i and 8i database have different ORACLE_HOME. When I tried to use f60genm command, it gave me a error stating it can't open libclntsh.so.8.0 file. I can find it in my 8.1.6/lib directory. However, Developer 6i uses 8.0.6 client. The file libclntsh.so.8.0 is not in the Developer 6i lib directory, neither it is in the 6i tar.gz file. When I copied the libclntsh.so.8.0 file from 8.1.6/lib to 6i lib, the f60genm program had a core dump. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong here?

Oracle Developer 6i downloaded from Oracle Web site.
