Help: Webdb remote connection to data only

Hi,

version 2.2 and hereby associated local site (eg intranet) to access a
remote oracle database 8.1.6 (ie tables and views of production environment)

I couldn't find any documentation on this.
I guess it must be possible as it is abc for most tools, question is how?
