Hello,

as you said, you're using 8i on Solaris. 8i has the feature to register a service dynamically with a specific listener. Therefore the instance would have to know which listener to talk to (configure in init.ora) or you have to tell the listener which service it should listen for (probably you've not done that). If you go to netasst and add the service you should be fine.

You could also check this with lsnrctl services MYLISTENER.
