How to connect?

Hi,
[Quoted] I am trying to use Procedure Builder in Developer 2000 to connect to Oracle 8i or Oracle 8. But no matter how I specify the database connect
string, the software can not find the specified server. The version of the Procedure Builder is V2.0. What kind of string I should use, or must I install a new software?
