newbie question on TNSPING

I am very new to the world of Oracle. Recently, I have been experiementing with the above utility. Is there a command line parameter that can be issued with Tnsping that will will limit it poll frequency to, let's say, 1 second intervals. I have notice that successive tnspings are issued when the previous tnsping has completed.
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
